The CAL3K-F Combustion Calorimeter was designed to be expandable. The entry-level system consists of a calorimeter, vessel and filling station, capable of running a sample every 26 minutes. At any time you are able to simply add an air cooler and more bomb vessels to the calorimeter system and so the sample speed increases to 10 per hour. The days of purchasing a totally new machine just because your laboratory requirements have changed are over. The best part is that you don't throw anything away!
BUDGET - A COST SAVING OPTION
Save your money and purchase a CAL3K-F Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System and invest in your future. The entry-level system will fulfill your budget requirements. In fact, the entry-level CAL3K-F system is cheaper than the CAL2K ECO Calorimeter System, it runs double the amount of samples per hour, has LIMS interface, prints directly to a printer and uses the new bayonet bomb vessel. Value for money at an affordable price. But it does not stop there, simply purchase additional bomb vessels or extra air coolers as and when required and your entry-level system becomes a fast workhorse.
INCLUDES ALL THE FEATURES
The CAL3K range of bomb calorimeters has a standard list of features, including the CAL3K-F Calorimeter System. These features include intuitive operation, instant help (F10 Key), Bayonet Vessels, USB and RS232 Communication, Predictive Text, High Accuracy and Free PC Software. The features from the entry-level to top-level (3 x Bomb Vessels + 2 x Air Coolers) remain the same, except for the speed. Both the bomb vessels (3K-5) and the cooler (3K-2) are standard and interchangeable across the CAL3K range. Don't forget, the newly upgraded 3K-3 Manual Oxygen Filling Station is a standard accessory and is included in the entry-level system.
COMPACT SIZE
Most laboratories are not very big and space is at a premium. The CAL3K-F Calorimeter entry-level system only takes up as much space as two laptops and does not require any additional space below the counter. In fact, the full system will occupy the space of 3 laptops. For the performance and integration capabilities, the little CAL3K-F Calorimeter packs a punch.
NO WATER REQUIRED
Older calorimeters typically require water to cool the vessel down after firing and to provide an insulation barrier. Setting up a water supply for these types of calorimeters is difficult and costly, not to mention the environmental impact. The CAL3K-F Calorimeters use waterless technology (dry method) for the insulation barrier and the tried and trusted 3K-2 Air Cooler for high performance. Not a drop of water is used, so no leaks, no chillers, no water tanks and no wastage of our precious resources.
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
The power consumption for the entry-level CAL3K-F Calorimeter System is very low at 2 Watts. This calorimeter will take only seconds from power ON to boot up and ready to use. The power supply for the calorimeter is 12V DC, so an external 12V 7AH alarm battery can be used to successfully run the entry-level calorimeter for more than 40 hours. The 3K-2 Air Cooler uses 12 Watts, so for an average system configuration, you can run for 6 hours or more than 36 samples on a single 12V 7AH battery charge.
But that is not all. The CAL3K-F Calorimeter does not require an air-conditioned room. Most times this fact is overlooked when purchasing a calorimeter, as older calorimeters require air conditioners. Air-Conditioners require a significant amount of electrical energy to operate, adding a hefty amount to your electricity bill, not to mention the overall running costs of your calorimeter.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Safety always comes first. The CAL3K-F boasts an electronic lock, which will only open when it is safe to do so. The calorimeter will also warn the operator when the vessel is warm and to handle with care. The new 3K-5 Oxygen Bomb Vessel is about 30% lighter than the previous CAL2K Bomb Vessel, so less strain and easier to move around.
COMPUTER AIDED QUALITY
The new CAL3K-F Calorimeter is now fully tested and quality certified by a computer. This will enable the factory to keep our high quality standards, yet ensuring all assembly and start-up tests are performed.
