The following information applies to the : CAL3K-AP , CAL3K-A ,CAL3K-F.
The CAL3K has a help function built in. It is accessible with the F10 key. The help display is supposed to give in any situation or operation a running comment. That was the intention! Sometimes it does not work as well as intended because of display priorities.
Each help display has a Number in front which allows us and the operator to identify the point at which things go wrong.
The help display is organized as follows:
100 – 199 | PREPARATION STAGE |
200 – 299 | INITIAL STAGE |
300 – 399 | MAIN AND END STAGE |
400 – 499 | KEYBOARD OPERATIONS |
500 – 599 | GENERAL ITEMS |
900 – 999 | FIELD TESTING |
The HELP display is provided in two stages:
- A short 40 character line explanation : This explanation is available for a limited time in line #2 only. The time can be set via the ‘Command Message time’ parameter. The default is 3 seconds!
- A comprehensive explanation started with the F10 key : This display takes over the complete display and the text (if it is long!) must be scrolled with the {Enter} key. This display has a timeout, after which the display prior to the F10 resumes. The ‘Help Timeout’ is to 10 seconds as a default.
The complete HELP text is constantly updated with the software changes. However, if you encounter a problem, please QUOTE the Mxxx number. If you feel that a Mxxx number does not explain what the problem is then contact us and we will try to help!
CAL3K ABORT FUNCTION
The CAL3K has an "ABORT" function. To operate it from the keyboard (give it a try once you have inserted a vessel and closed the lid). This procedure STOPS any operation, and returns the CAL3K to the state after power up. The same would happen if the power was removed and returned. It opens the lid.

The cooler 3K-2 can be controlled from the CAL3K or via the USB port at the rear. The cooler indicates this on its display: COOLING FROM VESSEL. Another way to change the cooling parameters is to connect the cooler to a PC via the USB interface and change the parameters.
Learn MoreVIEW KEYBOARD COMMANDS
The access to the keyboard commands is restricted by a password. The password can be changed from a PC connected to the USB port and the CAL3K management software. Once the password is entered in the CAL3K_AP the restriction is lifted for a specific time.
